Re: Mx-c312 prints light on left side

F2-45 is a known issue on the Frontier machines. The ProCon sensor array gets warped, causing that specific code. Just had this on a 401 last week. Procon controls F and R registration and mono and color densities.
As to the light on one side, check the IT belt cam, known to break right off the frame. Also check the fuser bearings didn't fail or pop out.

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

Fuser, transfer belt, drum assembly and developer are all new. Replaced the transfer belt today since I didn't see anything immediately wrong with it, still light on the left side. Going to hunt down the 64-5 prints and see if I can upload them since last time I couldn't and they haven't changed since all this crap started.

I could easily look past them not mentioning the mx-c312 but this talks about the ends going through not one side. I will scope it out when I'm digging around in it. Going to try re-replacing the drum and developer assembly.

    Mx-c312 645.pdf

Copy of the 64-5 B/W shows left side of sheet pretty much blank, readable but not very dark.

Are you sure the shudder is opening fully on the LSU?

Seems like it is. Can that cause such an isolated defect in printing just on the one color?

It seems like you have done everything except pulling out the lsu and looking at the black portion of it. I would pull it out and see if there is build up in that area or fogging of the glass. Seems you have changed all the things that would cause that issue, transfer units, including bk drum and developer units. How many copies are on the box? The LSU has a shutter and glass for each unit a total of 4 for one assembly. If one of them is covered in toner, developer, it will cause CQ issues as it can not see the image. If it is just black that is having the issues, pull the LSU and clean it.

Yes, the shudder for just the black can stick.

I have removed the shudders on LSU units before for this reason.

Re: Mx-c312 prints light on left side

I used the cleaning wand and checked it out with my light, seemed alright but the results speak for themselves. Next time I go there, I'm pulling the lsu (looks like a pain on this one) and checking and or removing the shudder. I guess I was just under the impression that if the shudder didn't work the black would be completely blank. If the glass was messed up it would be spotty but cloudy wasn't something I had really considered. Thanks for the advice.
