    Sharp MX-2610 failed PAT test

    Hi all

I have a client with an MX-2610 that has failed the PAT test...

Not being that familiar with the test, I’m unsure what they need to do to pass it...

Just looking for a little advise.

    Thanks

This appears to be a UK "thing". What portion of the test is the machine failing?

Re: Sharp MX-2610 failed PAT test

"Why has the machine failed a PAT (Portable Appliance Test)?
This is likley to be because the tester has tested the MFP as a portable I.T. appliance which has a very low target limit. All MFPs come under the heading of a Class 1 stationary I.T. appliance as specified in EN60950-1. this specification has a leakage limit of 3.5mA which our MFPs easily fall within."

Taken from the sharp tech site. I had this problem a few years ago with a PAT company too.
Get them to recheck and all will be fine.
    Hope this helps.

After reading some of the specs for the PAT requirements in the UK, I'm thinking It COULD be as simple as a bad power cord on the unit itself.
