    Sharp 3110n opinion

    Hi

What is your opinion about MX-3110N. Are they good machines from your experience? Any common problems?

    Thanks
    Tom

They are great machines as long as all updates have been applied, updated fuser pressure release gear, etc. If you need scanning though, these MFP's only support SMB1, so if you need to scan you need to find alternate ways for scanning, such as, FTP, email or pay for Sharpdesk.

It has been replaced by the MX-3115, then the MX-3140, and most recently by the MX-3050, if that tells you anything? It really is not a bad machine (Sharp-wise), as long as it is used for the niche it was intended for. Typical Sharp quirks...charger lines, etc. So, in my opinion, as long as it is not overworked it performs up to Sharps expectations. Hope that helps at least a little?

    Thank you for your opinions.
    I heard about these issues:
    - they are making loud noise when prints are leaving delivery unit
    - sometimes display stays blank (white) when accessing settings option
    - hard to insert cleaning wand to clean lsu.

Can you confirm or they are false?

I have not noticed anything abnormal when servicing machines
    - sometimes display stays blank (white) when accessing settings option
Have not seen or heard this issue before, make sure firmware is up to date
    - hard to insert cleaning wand to clean lsu.
it is a tight fit for the cleaning wand

    • Noise on the Paper Delivery Unit? Sometimes. Remedy is simple, apply oil between the plastic rollers and plate. Be sure to get a competent tech that also cleans your machine from dust and adds lubricant.
    • Blank and white on screen? Sometimes, HDD and SD card problems. But it's not for this model, this is an issue with ALL sharps. Although, I've only have had this happen to me twice.
    • Cleaning Wand. Well... yes. Usually because of the dust creating friction. Please get a competent tech that will clean and lubricate your MFP after maintenance.

But these aren't the right questions I think. Personally, I like this machine. It's easy to use and very simple to maintain. The only thing I do not like (mechanically) is rebuilding that fuser. It's annoying as hell. The other thing to consider and in my opinion the most important, are the networking capabilities. Now, this machine is JAM packed with features, but lacks 2 very important ones.
    1. Doesn't have wireless nic. No wifi connection!
    2. Does not have SMBv2 support (yet). And it looks like it is not going to have any support for SMBv2 any time soon.

These last two points is why we refuse to buy these models. We need Wifi, and SMBv2 support available to meet today's networking security demands. Those are my two cents. Let me clear though, it's still a good machine, and we have very happy clients who still have this machine.

    Good luck!
