Symptom: When scanning to E-mail using Microsoft Office 365, the machine displays a connectionerror.

TECHNICALTIP Identical email addresses may need be entered in three places on the MFP in order for the scan tosucceed.

Location 1: System Settings > Image Send Settings > Scan Settings > Reply Email AddressNote: The "Sender Name" must also be populated)

Locations 2 and 3: Network Settings > Services Settings > SMTP > Reply Email Address and SMTPAuthentication User NameEnsure all three email addresses are identical.Try a test scan, if the scan is successfull then you are done, if the scan fails then add brackets (<>) aroundthe email address that you entered for "SMTP Reply E-Mail Address" (e.g. "") andthen try the scan again.
