Mx 7090 card reader issues
Hi All
I've been asked a question by one of our support to be honest I haven't come across this issue so I thought I'd throw it out there
MX7090 using paper cut and a card reader doesn't validate the card when the user swipes the card in energy save mode apparently the theory is that it drops the first 2 digits of the card
Anyone out there in copier land come across this issue
thanks in advance
Yorky

Re: Mx 7090 card reader issues
Have not seen this but you may want to change "Sleep Mode Power Level".
There are two options 1)Low Power (which I believe is default) and 2)Fast Wake Up........try "Fast Wake Up" to see if that solves issue.
Purely speculation, based on 0% real world knowledge of this problem.

Did you try the power management setting mentioned above? We have a customer with a similar issue.

Re: Mx 7090 card reader issues
I would also suggest turning off the turn panel off while in preheat/sleep mode option. I did see this issue on a couple 7040 machines but it ended up being an issue with the combination of reader hardware/software version and type of cards being used. That could be your issue as well since the time I saw it the client was also using papercut.

Re: Mx 7090 card reader issues
Hi
It is recommended to update the mfp software with the card reader attached.
Good luck
