Sharp FX-18 Finisher problem

We have a sharp FX-18 Finisher on an MX-M565 copier that is giving us jamming problems when making 20 page or more into a booklet or pamphlet on ledger size paper, 5 Ledger size sheets printed double sided, and it jams when it is 12-15 pamphlets into the run. The final page going into the finisher does not drop all the way down and the finisher staples it and attempts to shoot it out and then jams. We have brought it into the shop and attached it to a Sharp MX4141 and it works fine. When we attach it to a Sharp MX5151 the problem continues. It seems to have something to do with the speed of the copier? We have torn the finisher down and cant find any issues with the paper path and are open to any ideas. Firmware is up to date.

Do you have a jam code?

There are different firmware packages for the MXFN18 to load an the different models. Just looked it up on IDNC.

Jam codes are POD1_N, APPD1_S, POD2_S, APPD2_N, PPD1_NA, PPDI_N1, POD1_S.
After the pamphlet tries to leave the finisher it starts to accordion in that area and it depends on which sensor triggers first as there is paper all through the copier for the next pamphlet. The finisher thinks that the pamphlet exited but there is still half a page inside that got stapled wrong.

we have updated with the latest firmware with the Finisher attached.

Did you look up the firmware for the 565 machine or did you look up the firmware for the finnisher model?

I am probably in over my head on this one, the only firmware I see specific for the finisher is dated 7/19/2013 and is for the F1-21 trouble on the sharp site.

I don't have access to IDNC any longer, but I remember firmware for a finisher was different (sometimes) depending on what model it was connected to. So, if you update for a model, it may not have the correct firmware for the finisher for that model.
