    MX2314 printing PDF's slow

Had a call from a customer today saying their MX2314 is really slow when printing PDF's, its taking about 12 seconds to process one page on a multi page document. Its a basic 2314 with no hard drive. I am not sure whether to fit a HDD & Productivity kit or fit a XPS kit? anyone have experience of either? which will speed up printing?

    Thanks

Is this through the print driver?

Thought of something else. You have the sharp driver loaded not WSD?

is the PDF flattened? are there multiple layers to it?

have you taken the file and printed direct to the MX thru a crossover from your laptop?

is the MX coming out of sleep mode?

    Re: MX2314 printing PDF's slow

Update ..... Latest firmware installed. Correct PCL 64 bit driver installed printing directly over TCPIP port. If I print a 4 page PDF to the machine it takes 3 minutes 2 seconds from clicking print on the pc to the last page being printed. If i print the same document to their old MX2310 it takes less than 2 minutes to complete same job.

differences is that the MX2310 has a Hard Disk and the MX2314 doesn't, could this be the problem as the processor in the MX2314 is faster than the MX2310?

If i click the print as image option, this makes it a little quicker but still slower than the MX2310.

    any other ideas anyone???

Check connection to router, restart and change port.
Be sure simulation 55-3 switch 6 is 00000000 (network speed).
