    Strange printing issue

This is a MX-3640 It is set up wireless. Random prints come out total gibborish. The strange part is some prints come out all wavy-not the print on the copy but the paper itself. You can hear it when it happens. I dont know if it is a coincidence that this only seems to happen when printing, but it never did once when making copies. I made a lot of copies and it never did it. The customers sample gibborish copise the paper was all wavy and it happened again when they made a test print for me. Again it never happened when making copies. Anybody seen anything like this?

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Hook up your laptop, and do a test print; most likely, it's a driver problem. It's on a IP address and not a WSD port I hope. Also, clear out the job log.

The wavy paper seems to happen only when you print. This may be a coincidence, but thos is the only time I’ve seen it occur. Here’s some samples:

P.S. the pages printed besides the wavy paper, garbled print also was not supposed to be a big square of color covering the page. I figured the garbled print and the square covering the page may be the print driver, but have you ever seen paper come out wavy like that only when printing? All the customers samples were like that and one sample they printed while I was there did that. I ran a lot of copies while I was there and none of them did that. You can hear it when it happens. Almost like a mismatch of motor speeds or something.

Back when I was working on the Canon iR330's it was a common condition when the exit rollers would wear. The paper would bunch up in the exit and eject wavy like that, without showing a jam condition.

I have no idea if that will help you. =^..^=

Those samples looks like toner is fixed evenly. This wouldn't happen if paper enters fuser wavy like that.
Exit section definitely. Hmm, why only when printing?
I will go and do more tests.

Hi maybe the paper selection of the printer driver selecting thick paper when using thin or normal paper can cause that.

How many clicks are on the box? Is fuser within specified maintenance range? IS this occurring before, after or during fusing?
It almost looks like uneven pressure in the fuser, maybe a locked up pressure roller bearing or possibly a fuser belt issue.

Thanks for the replies. The machine is low count and just had first maint with all new fuser roll, belt and bearings. One thing I just thought of for the wavy copy is this machine just had a inner finnisher installed. I think the foam rollers on the ecit roll have to be removed,i will check. If they do need to go maybe they were not removed when finnisher was installed.
