Mx5070 - toner waste boxes filling up quickly

HEY EVERYONE, i HAVE A NEW MX5070 WHICH HAS 33,000 BLACK PRINTS ON AND 19,000 COLOUR PRINTS ON AND THE CUSTOMER HAS REPLACED:

2 X bLACK tONER (SUPPOSEDLY A 40k YIELD)
1 X SET OF COLOUR TONERS
2 X TONER WASTE BOXES

WE REPLACED A MX5140 AND EVEN THE CUSTOMER HAS COMMENTED THAT THE TONERS AND WASTE BOX IN THE OLD MACHINE USED TO LAST A LOT LONGER?

ANY THOUGHTS?

There is firmware to address the waste toner issue in the states.....

Hi there, what firmware level are you now on? Here in the Uk we have 0780Z100 as the latest?

Yes this is latest in the USA

My apologies, but I cannot find what made me think firmware was fix, I can't find but will keep looking, as this problem is driving a lot of us a little crazy.

Another issue related to these MX-607HB waste toner boxes - after just having experienced a failure of a Katun box (they had recalled their first generation boxes due to some problem(s) by the way), I am unlikely to buy any more Katun boxes. The stirring mechanism broke, so the gear spun without resistance and the box filled up, backing up toner into the drum units which caused the magenta drum unit to fail, snapping the augering shaft. and the yelllow drum was moments from doing the same thing. Live and Learn.
Best advice to key operators is to change out the box when you get the initial message that the waste toner box is nearly full. We put a bright sticker on the cardboard box to "Save for Recycling/Re-use". We also put stickers on the toner boxes to alert the operators to not add the toner until the copier is completely out of this color. You will find some people changing all the toners when only one has run out.
