ARM277 upper fuser roller to work in ARM317?

Anyone know if upper 277 fuser can actually fit in 317. I know part numbers are diff. but seem to remember back when we had a lot of these in field that one of our techs actually swapped parts from a 277 into a 317 fuser.

Trying to cull out old parts and we have a rebuild coming up for a 317 still in field that is 48 miles away.

If I remember correctly. The 317 has a c-ring on the one end that the 277 doesn't have.
