Re: MX-3640N Random jam & reeboot

I had a similar problem with a MX6070 (jams, power cycles & taking a while for users jobs to print). Only happened with one specific user. Had them use a different PC for a week or so, no jams or power cycles. Turned out to be a dodgy port on their switch, flooding machine with packets.

I can try to replace the MFP board. I also encountered a similar situation last month. The machine has been restarted. Later, the situation was improved after replacing the MFP board.

Re: MX-3640N Random jam & reeboot

Had a call this mornig the machine was dead . Only got the green led on the panel to flash & the screen was blinking.

I will let you know if the jam/reboot still happens in the next days.

Thank you all once more for the help.

Printer Modification of problems with Network printing, such as 1) paper jam which is not logged in Jam History, 2) machine lockup rejecting key operations

    Sharp TR-CCE 1420

    Firmware version 06.00.Ad.f0 with MX-FR41U

    Firmware version 06.00.A2 without DSK

Have you tried the kiss method.

Pull network cable, power cycle. Does it photocopy ok? If so something on network upsets it. Disable WSD and mDNS in network settings. Set fresh IP when off network and go from there.

Re: MX-3640N Random jam & reeboot

I have seen this issue before. One time it was the driver pwb being flaky and the other couple times it was the sensors in the vertical path both times in my case being the one before ppd2. I have I usually replace all of them because as mentioned before there were alot of faulty sensors when these machines were built and i dont like to return to machines for the same issue more than once.

and i would also do 50-28 setup/adj all trays to confirm its not a timing issue after replacing the sensors
