MX-5070V - Air Print - User Control
Have a customer wanting to utilize Airprint on their MX-5070V. User Control with Job Code's is enabled. Air print devices show a lock notification and require User/Password to print and do not appear to accept the Job/User Code as previous model did. Does anyone know if it is possible to utilize the Code for login/print on these newer models or are they stuck utilizing the users login?

Re: MX-5070V - Air Print - User Control
As far as I know, you cannot use Airprint when account control is turned on. Airprint doesn't allow for entering credentials. However, a work around I have found is using Sharpdesk mobile. It does allow you to input credentials for print jobs, therefore still retaining account control.

Re: MX-5070V - Air Print - User Control
The ipad allowed him to enter a username/password combination but didn't appear to allow user code.

Re: MX-5070V - Air Print - User Control
Go into user control, default settings and untick IPP at the bottom and it should work.

Reinstall the printer, download drivers from Sharp, not generic driver, adding it by ip and using hp jetdirect protocol

Re: MX-5070V - Air Print - User Control
MattL's suggestion should resolve it.
However, if you do get prompted for credentials (username/password), you should be able to print by using admin for both fields.

Re: MX-5070V - Air Print - User Control
They can print by logging in with the 'users' password. They want to be able to use a User Number/Code. I have suggested they try adding usernames and passwords to the job code/number users and see if logging in through airprint will not only allow them to print but also keep track of the counts by that user.

Re: MX-5070V - Air Print - User Control
Doestn the "enable prints from unauthenticated users" work?
Havent tested this yet...
Im guessing you want to airprint form an iphone or ipad? So you can not authenticate...
Unless you use sharpdesk mobile as previously mentioned.
