    FNX-9 inner finnisher staple problem

The problem I am having is not all sheets are getting stapled. I cleaned all the rollers and the band type rollers. When watching the papers comming out I can not really see what is causing the problem. It seems like one or sometimes more papers are not getting drawn in all the way and dont get stapled. They seem to be alingned side to side ok. Hope someone else has seen this and may have a soloution. Thanks

Very common problem with these internal finishers! Rebuild it. Find a place that you can spread out with it (you will need it!). First time I rebuilt one it took me 2-3 hours. Be prepared! Once you have done it once or twice it gets a lot easier! You can get it down to about 45 minutes. Remember, I warned you!

    You will need -
    0CW4141P372// - Knurled belts qty-2
    0CW4141P301// - Exit rollers qty-2
    0CW4141P007// - Transport rollers qty-2
    0CW4141P371// - Rear mylar qty-1
    0CW4141P370// -Front mylar qty-1

I recommend doing it in the shop the first time.

Replace the following items from the parts manual, 2 each. Section 3, item 13. Section 4, item 6 and item 8.
Watch those tiny grey plastic c-clips!! They love to fly away!!
These rollers/belts wear out in 200-300k, and they will no longer align the paper to be stapled.
You first time takes about 45 minutes to replace them.

    ^^beat me to it.

Thanks guys. When I go back there I am gonna swap the unit out with a working one and then I will get those parts and rebuild customers unit in the shop. The customers machine does not have many copies on it at all but I think with the deal they got we put a finnisher in machine that was not new,so dont really know how much use it has on it.

don't know if this is an option but based upon the described amount of time and effort needed to rebuild one, wouldn't securing a used and tested one more cost efficient? There are plenty available from the resellers at decent pricing.
