Hey guys .. any thoughts on the fuser in these things?


the lack of web is still an issue in my mind.
BUT some do work . others do not. Yes I've done the sharp bulletins.
Sharp Canada told us that the machines shipped to them before product launch had webs.
I was wondering if anywhere else in the world they still had webs and if so can i get the parts list of cleaning unit to add it to my machines?

I haven't heard anything about Sharp adding web units to these fusers. It's a shame, really. The machine's aren't that bad, but the fusers just suck. I have very few that make it to a PM cycle, and I have well over a 100 that I service. If it only had a web, I believe they would last quite a bit longer.

i know and the stuff to run the web is there on the 4070 series. just needs the gears and lever . i dont even care if there is firmware to make the web end sensor work. the web would last as long as the fuser thats all thats required

is there any way we can put pressure in sharp usa? im from canada and they are too small to make this an issue

You would think that some of these mega dealers would have done that already. I was thinking of trying an oil roller from the AR610 series or the ARM550 fuser (2nd generation mod had an oil roller I think) but not sure if this would work and don't have any in stock to try.

The fusers are utter shite. Sharp have never made a decent fuser, apart from the Hercules, and that is a Ricoh fuser anyway

We have eliminated most of our fuser issues with these machines by running the fuser cleaning mode in system settings\image quality adjustment\fuser cleaning mode.
I run the adjustment at every **70/**71 service call, if the fuser is real bad you may have to run the adjustment a lot (40/50 times). I've brought fusers back to life that i originally though were dead just by running the cleaning.

The fuser cleaning mode definitely helps. What also helps is going to simulation 43-1 and put the "plain pap&wup&rdy GR" on -5

Using the 607 kits instead of the 407s to rebuild the 30 - 40 ppm fusers helps a bit as well.

We tried it on a couple, half-expecting warmup related codes, but haven't encountered any thus far.

did you mean the 608 kits?
my manual says fuser kits are
mx607fb
mx607lh

but the mx607fb has been superceded by the mx608fb

but issues are still occurring.. mainly buildup on the separation plate. and lower heat roller contamination
