    Sharp FO-4400 dirty copies

Dirty copies when recieving faxes. You can see that the toner and drum are causing it. However, the drum and toner are not going very far. Replaced toner, drum and transfer roller within the last month. Fax machine has approx. 95 k on it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do a self print and see if it comes out clean, could be a telco line problem. You could also adjust bias down to the lightest, to see if it gets better.

Sharp facsimile have an annoying characteristic. If the toner cartridge starts to dump toner all over the machine, it will quickly overwealm the cleaning unit. If you replace the toner cartridge only the drum still won't clean. If you replace the drum only, the toner cartridge will quickly overwealm the new drum unit.

So if the toner cartridge is dumping toner all over the machine, and the drum cannot clean, save yourself a trip, and just replace both the first time.

Also if the customer says "I don't care what the quality looks like. Just fix the fuser jamming problem." Well the quality is the fuser jamming problem. The teeny little fuser can't deal with heavy fill (like a dumping toner cartridge) and will quickly contaminate a new fuser is the cartridge is not changed. =^..^=

I do the self print and the CQ is there. I have not tried to lighten it up.

I replaced the toner and the drum at the same on the last 2 visits. You can see the lines on the toner cartridge and you can see the wear on the drum. Thanks for the ideas.
