AR-161 TD cartridge trouble

hello there
Anyone had problems with the TD cartridge warning light staying on after a new cartridge is replaced on this model?

Here's a bit of the story with this one: both TD cartridge and the drum cartridge indicator lights were on, and machine was used until it would no longer make copies. Replaced both cartridges, the drum indicator light did go off, but upon startup the TD light goes off, machine runs for 2-3 minutes, then stops with TD indicator blinking. Have already cleared developing counter 42-1.

Replace the toner motor

More than likely a broken shaft on the toner motor. Pull out the cartridge & the white gear is probably laying in there. The first production models had a plastic shaft with a pin through it. It would usually break after putting a new cartridge in, as the full cart. is a lot harder to turn. It's a bitch to replace unless you've done about 50 of them like I have.
Good luck.

thank you--issue solved

In the process of checking the plastic drive gear, which was still intact (I'd replaced one of these a couple of years ago), found that the gear on the cartridge was very sticky. Loosened it up with a few turns and presto!
Much appreciated
