user codes on PPD driver

Hi guys, can you help me? My customer wants to arrange his printing through CUPS. He is looking to use the PPD driver, but is also using user codes. It's looking like we cannot use user numbers on the PPD driver. Does anyone have any suggestions?

possible reason why

i dont know if this will help , i used to work on canons and had to research once why macs could not use the confidential mailboxes on our canons using postscript , well they (canon) had only put the mailbox code in a proprietary wrapper around the pcl sent to the printer, never inplemented for ps , i dont know much about sharps but they may work the same way
