    Hi,

You need a Sharp to look at your machine and change the firmware on it.

What is it...with Everyone wanting to upgrade the Firmware on Older Small Sharp machines.....!!!!

They can be a Nightmare to do..... using an assortment of cables, software and dip switches..........get it wrong and you have a Boat Anchor or an expensive PWB or EEprom to replace.....

If the Machine works ... Leave it alone !
If it doesn't work ... Fix it !
(Last resort Firmware, but be Sure the Firmware WILL fix the problem!)

If it still doesn't work ......... Up grade the Machine !

    Rant over........

    Back to the Problem........

    E7..... what ?
There should be a further set of digits ....?

Probably E7-11 = White Correction Error

The Optics cavity needs cleaning....Mirror base and Mylar reflectors..etc.... Not an easy task if you don't know 'HOW'.

[A Sharp Arm160 is nothing like a computer to work on or take apart ]

If you haven't a Service agreement as you say ... then it would be worth paying for the machine to be Serviced.
    regards

    You tell 'em johnbla.

Forget the firmware. It is a nightmare, and is more likely to kill your machine than save it. To get the rest of the code hold down the start button and you'll see the remaining two digits (sub-code). And get yourself a manual.
    RTFM
Do yourself a favor. Buy a manual and read up on your problem before posting. I enjoy helping those that are willing to help themselves. =^..^=
