Sharp ar-m208

Working on the above device and it jams everytime. It jams after it is exiting the fusee but before it exits the machine. Once it starts to leave the fuser the next set of feed rollers it gets to is when it stops. Seems like these feed rollers are not turning. I don't have a manual right now so not sure of the exact name. If someone has the manual for this and could email it that would be great. Tommy@genesistech.com just realized I have the ar275 as a hard copy at the shop think these are close.

If any one has any input on why it would be jamming in this area, or what to look for. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the quick response. Its def a Sharp AR-M208. There is another post http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/sh...p-ar-m208.html that references the same model.

Any ideas why it could be jamming at the described location above? Looking at the ar-275 manual it is stoping at the transport roller just after the fuser.

What jam codes are you getting? Is the exit unit noisy? The exit gears don't always mesh well causing noise and jams. I fold up a piece of paper and jam it under one of the frames so the gears make better contact.

Ok got the jamming issue fixed. One of the connections from the fuser to the board came undone and was causing the transport roller not to turn when the paper reachEd that point.

However now I am having quality issues. It's duplicating the image half way done the page. The bigger the group of copies it gets worse towards the end. From laser printers I would imagine this would be either the drum or fuser. User reports no quality problems yesterday. With what I found on the fuser today do you think the fuser could be the problem.

Didn't get a chance to try a stop test as customer was closing. Going to try to measure the distance if any one has one of those rulers that helps indicate problem part for repeating marks. I have a set for hp printers not sure if they make them for copiers.

OK, got back to the shop and was able to measure out the ghosting. It happens at 94-95mm. This would be the drum?

Some more info. Its about 94-95mm on the first copy, after about 20 copies the ghosting appears to be more frequent (ie multiple times on the one page vs just one ghosted image like one the first page). Could this lead back to the fuser maybe not heating up enough and some of the toner is being left on the fuser and put on to the next page??

Noticed when I got back to the shop that on the back of the last couple of copies there is lines as well and it matched up to lines on the front. Again this is after about page 15 give or take. First few pages only shows one duplicate image and no lines. What I was coping had a table from excel so it had lines, and the other lines that run the page on front and back line up with them. I am at a loss. I keep going back to the fuser b/c of the loose connection it had causing the jams.

95.5mm intervals indicate a drum issue, usually drum cleaning. =^..^=

Blackcat, thanks for that info. I was able to do a stop test today and looks like it is indeed something going on with the drum. It has over 100k and we have not service this machine before now so got the parts ordered.

Was that interval in the manual? I took a quick look when I got back but I have a hard copy of it so nothing jumped out like that. I really need to convert it to a pdf with ocr when I get a chance.

75K is the PM interval for drum, blade, developer, fuser felt, & rollers. 300K on the fuser & fuser drive idler gear. That's the basics.

You can use the AR-275 manual for most of the basic information. It's a very close relative. =^..^=
