    Angry MX-M350 AND MX-M450 jamming

These 2 models (almost identical, of course) are both jamming when duplexing. They seem to do fine on single-sided. I have replaced the turnover units (paper-reversing unit, whatever it's called) in both of these, and cleaned every grey feed roller in the paper path. Does not seem to be a finisher issue, does not seem to be a fuser issue. Ideas? Thanks. I was thinking maybe it's the little gate/spring on the end door, someone also told me they think that whole end door unit can also warp from heat.

The most common cause of duplex jamming I've seen is a broken tooth on the reverse gate ( p/n PGIDM2077FCZ2 figure 2 item 1) at the top of the left door. Also I've seen the doors warp over time with the duplexer hanging on it. For me usually this caused general jamming, not just duplex. Hope this helps.

What jam codes are you getting? This will help big-time.

How many copies on the machine? I have had the sensor at the top center of the duplex unit get very dirty and cause intermittent jams. It is a pain to get to (have to take the duplex almost completely apart). It seems to attract a lot of dirt and dust for some reason.

    Good luck.

    Jam codes? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

About 600,000 copies on each machine. Jam codes - AINPD_N and APPD1_S. Thanks for the replies thus far, my delay in response is due to business in the field.
I am heading out in a few to these machines with the gate unit in hand from another machine here in the shop. I didn't see any missing teeth from the gate on the jamming machines, but i'm thinking maybe the spring is streched a little. Will also clean above-mentioned duplex sensor.

    dirty/dragging AINPD sensor lever.

also, if these units have saddle stitch finishers attached, make sure they are level and aren't putting outward pressure on the side door of the machine.

Thanks, i'll check that sensor tomorrow. These don't have saddle-stitch finishers, just the little crappy ones that hang on the right hand side. Funny enough, i got another service call for one of these today (we have 100 or so out in the field) that is duplex jamming. I took the duplex unit off of it, cleaned the sensors and rollers, checked the actuators and fuser, and replaced the gate on the top of the left door, and it seems to be jamming in the reversing unit

The AINPD_N and APOD_S fits with duplex jamming and jamming on face down delivery to the left. You'll see hard lumps of toner adhered to the gate and warping. =^..^=

Sweet, i am taking 2 new gates with me to the problematic machines tomorrow, hope this is what i find. I will also clean all rollers/sensors/actuators. Might clean up the old gates or just replace them. I'll repost afterwards.
