    Unhappy sharp AL-1200

    drum indicator still blinking after replaced a new drum cartridge..
    what should i do...
    any sp mode to reset drum counter
    & if yes how to enter sp mode..

    to enter SP = Clear - Exposure - Clear - Exposure

    Exposure is on the far left of the panel where you cycle between AE and Text/photo

    type in 24 into the display - Start, type 7 into display and press start.

    If that does not work open both doors. In the front door bottom right corner front frame side should be a little switch. Cheat the right hand door switch and then press the little micro switch down until the drum counter clears. The new drum should of had a little gear that hits that switch once but maybe it was out of position.

    Im just going off memory here, been a long time since ive worked on one of these so i could be wrong

    Reset Drum Counter

    Been awhile myself, some of those sharps have a reset arm built in the drum unit. Pop the end cap off the drum and see if there is a cog and arm, reset if possible and put back into the machine, see if it resets.

    There is also a small microswitch that you can see on the main body were the drum slides in. You can trip this with the door cheated.
