    Sharp AR M162

Is the scanner drive belt only available through Sharp and how difficult is it to replace or is there a way other than zip tie to adjust the tension??? Belt appears to be stretched causing scanner to stall then code out. Zip tie is working right now.
    Thanks!!!

We normally can get some parts like this from Precision Roller, but I looked and they do not have the belt listed. Here is the part number if you don't have it. I have never had to replace one of these belts so can't say how difficult it might be. Sorry that I couldn't be more helpful.

It's very easy. I've had a few that needed tensioning. The motor is accessible through the back cover, and the belt OC (with the contact glass removed).

Personally, I think that you'll find that the new belt is exactly the same length as the old one. It just needs tensioning. The motor is attached via rubber shock mounts, but there are three slotted holes unused in the motor mounting plate. You'll just need to find three M3 x 10 self tapping screws to secure the motor where you need it to be. Easy as cake..., or is it pie?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
