hold the start button and let us know the sub error code
There's more to it. On machines that have only a two digit display, the display may look like (for example) "E7", then when you press the Start key it displays the sub-code (for example) "04". In this example the code is E7-04.
Now, what code are you getting? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

It said 88 when I held down start.
You're almost there. So far you've given me "E?-88". We're only missing one digit now.
I'm going to make a wild guess, that you're code is E1-88. That's an E-sort time-out communication error.
A simple reset should get it going. Try this: Clear > Interrupt > Clear > Interrupt > 14 > Start.

You guessed right I will try it now
It didn't work. Not ruling out that I probably did it wrong
