Question ARM 280U Intermittant op panel

Touch screen and push buttons operate intermitantly. copier is ready condition and all functions on op panel will work just fine and all copy functions normal. then you'll hit start and no response no tone from pressing it. same with all other buttons. or go into touch screen and nothing. wait abit and they'll work again. or they stay non functional and you have to open close front door and if that doesnt do it power on and off.
Any one seen this? Ive had suggestions of hard drive. i have re-seated most connections and dimms. checked power Have 120v and .4 to .6 through ground. have seen the power at 119v drops to 116v when machine starts copying. Never seen this hope someone has. thanks Brian

I'll definitely go with the suggestion already made on the HDD. Seen very similar symptoms before caused by a HDD fault. Either format it or replace it.

A locking up/freezing scanner unit can also be caused by a poor connection of CN11 on PCU board. Reseat the plug just to be sure.

After that, I'd be looking into a power related issue to this machine. Possibly move it to a different power outlet on a different circuit as a test.

We had a delivery person for a while that did not secure the thumb screws on the scanner connector. A bump, or wire pulled is enough to unseat the connector.

Another thing that you can check is to one-by-one press each button on the panel and listen for a little "click" from each one. If you find one or more that doesn't click, it is either stuck down disabling the use of the other buttons, or just worn out. Also re-seat the panel ribbon cables and ground connectors. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
