    Question "Please wait" message

We have an MX6200 that has a "Please wait" message on the screen and it doesn't let you do anything.
We have tried updating the firmware, replaced MFP, PCU PWb and mother board. Checked all the fuses, removed options, removed security kit. But still no luck.
    Has anyone seen this before?

You have done quite alot of diagnostics already. Well done.

If this is happening straight away on bootup, and the message stays there, it very well could be looking for the HDD to finish bootup.

Do you have a punch unit installed? Only 2 things show up on this from Sharp. One is the punch unit dip switches are wrong and the other involves a ROM update done in the wrong order if you have an LCT installed. Only information I could find. Hope this is helpful.

    Good call Bil.

Also check all fuser thermistats. It should come up with a H3 or H4 code if there was a fuser problem, but I've seen similar issues before now I think about it. Take the fuser unit out and confirm all thermistats haven't tripped out.

The hole fuser got taken out to see if it would go away. Also, all the options got removed including the finisher and it still did the same.
Also they tried aging without warming up and no luck. We are out of ideas. do you have any more ideas.

By the way, thanks guys for all your input.

Yeah, you've done the obvious, and some, not-so-obvious.

Does the fuser heat up at all? Regardless, I'd take a close look at the doorswitches and heater driver circuit. On many copiers the fuser AC current is cut by a doorswitch.

Can you access service mode? Does the machine properly display the actual fuser temperature?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Does the machine make the usual warmup/calibration noises during startup, or does it just sit there once at the copy screen?

Are there any trouble codes recorded, such as F2-02, F2-40 or F2-64?

Perform a clone of the machine, then give it an NVRAM clear. Reapply the clone afterwards.

    Reseat/check the MFP memory modules.

Start the machine with the ADF open, and have the DSPF scan cover open so the invertor board in the ADF doesnt startup.

In 22-05 are there any firmware versions missing that should be listed?

No codes appear. The fuser temps are up to what it's supossed to be up to.
I have to check if the guys checked the switches, but all other boards and fuses were checked or replaced.
I will tell them to do some of the steps you mentioned.
    Thanks

Silly, but I have not seen it mentioned. Is it on a 20 amp breaker? It is a 16 amp machine. We had one do something very similar with a 15 amp breaker.
