    Scan to USB problem

hello guys, i recently went to a customer that has a MXM453N, when i try to scan to my usb flash drive, and also a couple of others in PDF format, i cannot view the file on the usb drive in document filing, if i use the same usb flash drive in windows i see the files on the usb flash on my desktop, however the customer told me that if they try to scan to usb flash using TIFF format it works. i am totally confused, maybe one off you guys can help me, i also formated the usb drive in windows xp Fat32.

The machine needs Postscript installed to be able to view & print PDF files from a USB drive. You can scan onto the USB drive as a PDF, but if the machine doesn't have PS installed as an option, you will only see JPG, PCL & TIFF files on the drive.
This is standard specification on any MX or MXM machine.

Don't the Konica' color boxes support PS out of the box?
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

Check 22-10 or print out 22-6. You could also go to the product key screen, If the PS kit is highlighted, it's installed.
    Hope that helps !

As Tony has said, check 22-06 print out, or 22-10 machine configuration display to see if PS is enabled. It will be called MXPKX1. If its not listed, then thats the option you need to get installed.

Its just the PS kit you need to activate via the product key. Once activated, you can load the PS drivers as well as the PCL drivers.

You are also able to print .prn files from your USB drive. These are word documents that you print to a file. Had to do this as a work around one time until they got their network going properly. Just some FYI if you ever need it!!

    Good luck.
