    SDEXIT_N Jam code

This is a MXM1100. It has 10 mil copies on it. It keeps jamming out of the LCC into the machine and the jammed paper is always hiding. There are other jams, and in the jam counter it shows SDEXIT_N. we looked in the manual and there is no sensor called SDEXIT.
The drives have been changed and the PF unit where it's getting jammed at. Also, the finisher (FNX5) was cleaned and the entry sensor was changed that recives the paper coming from the saddle stitcher.
We run about 5K and leave and the next day it starts jamming again.

They are running yellow paper ( a LOT) of it and we think that may be an issue, but they have ran this color paper before so it's not new.
    Any ideas

It's listed on page 12-6 in the SM, FIN paper exit not reached. We have had a couple of these but the jam is always at the finisher. It's always been a small piece of paper obstructing the paper path for us but that doesn't sound quite like your problem.

    Good luck.

we found that too, but wen you look for the sensors in the finisher you can't tell exactly which one it is. we did replace one of the exit sensors and it seems to be working, but it usually works a a couple of days and then it starts jamming again.
    Thanks for the reply

Another thing I just remembered, this is a Ricoh finisher so we have had problems with the entry guide to the finisher getting warped/bent. They're pretty flimsy sheet metal, just something to look at??

SDEXIT_N jam code is the 'EXITS' sensor in the FNX8 saddle finisher. Its the last sensor through the FNX8. (see attached picture for location).

The problem is in the small door between the finishers or before it, as you are getting SDEXIT_N.

We have a client with a MXM950 who uses a yellow letterhead paper (100% yellow with red text) and this stuff is chaos! It either curls up and causes excess jams or heavily stains every single PF & transport roller/sensors along the way.

Dont rule out this particular batch of paper just yet, but definitely check the EXITS sensor & associated paper path before it in the FNX8.

    Thanks, this is very helpful.
The machine started jamming again today and they were running plain white paper. same jam codes. we will check tomorrow.

Thoroughly check the output section of the FNX8. Clean the transport rollers. You will probably find a dusty optical sensor in the FNX8 if you have been concentrating on the FNX5 previously. A dusty sensor from a non standard paper will definitely cause random jams at that sensor.
Either way, it's something in the FNX8.
