Is this thing running slow in copy mode as well or only in Print?

I had a customer printing on paper size 5.5x8.5 and it put the machine down to 20ppm. I know differnt paper types can also slow the machine down. Is it possible the print job is saying it's a differnt paper type or size and slowing down the copier?

If this happens in copy mode as well throw out what i said.

Get a copy of the job log data from the webpage.

Check if there are any error codes like 0201, 0202, 021E, 042C listed there. These are 'memory full' errors, which would indicate a possible problem with the copy memory modules. Also run 60-01 memory R/W test.

Swap out the memory and test again. If its copy only, the only times I've seen something like that was memory problems & MFP accessing memory.

Been back to this machine today. the customer had managed to jam the paper pass unit half in and half out.

fixed that and decided to redo all the connectors on the controller board and then work around the others. after the controller, fired it up and 51 copies in 60 secs.....right on the money. problem is i've got no idea which connector(s) was/were the problem.

    at least it's working....

    thanks for the replies.

    Re: u2-50 code

Hi Bill, I experienced this same U2-50 problem last week. You mentioned loading N model firmware resolved the issue. Was it the straight forward firmware update or emergency update.
From what I gathered it might not need me to replace the HDD at all. Thanks.

    Hello rayjeek

i installed the correct version straight over the top of the incorrect version and it worked straight off.
