AR-M277 F6-10 Code ("FAX Control PWB")

    Hi folks,
My customer said they're getting the code and they have to unplug the copier in order to reset it. I went out and checked all of the connectors and stared at the machine, but it didn't help...I stared really hard too. Any ideas? Thanks and Merry Christmas!

I'd start by re-seating all the fax board connectors. The few times this code has come up it was shortly after a surge, and ended up replacing the fax control board. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Fax batteries can cause this. Check batteries voltage, if under 2.8v replace batterie, if above, may be your fax pwb.

Ive had this problem on copiers with network. The NIC drains the battery on the fax board. I copied the first part of the bulletin. If yours has Network and the version is below 1.2.0 replace the battery and setup the copier as described below.
    Model name: ARFX7, ARM237, ARM277
General: On units equipped with the optional PCL PWB only! When the power is turned on or
when the machine receives a fax in auto-power-shut-off state and tries to start up, F6-10
    may be displayed.
Details: When the machine enters auto power shut-off a potential difference is created between
the PCL PWB and the FAX PWB that causes a drain on the battery mounted on the FAX
    PWB.
A work around is to have the auto power shut-off “OFF”, the time specified FAX report
setting “ON” and the number of incoming call is auto receive mode set to “0”.
If these key operator settings are already set at the site you won’t have a problem, but
these are not the default settings. You also will not have a problem If the PCL PWB was
    manufactured later than January 2005.

Thanks guys (except for manuals4you...SPAMMER). I've checked the service and parts manuals and I can't find a part number, or model, of the battery. To save me another trip to the customer, do you know the #? Thanks again.
