Sharp AR-M201 Button Manager not working Win7 x64

Hi!

I have a problem with the button manger software on an AR-M201 connected to a 64bit windows 7 laptop on a construction site.
Printer Driver and TWAIN driver works fine. I can scan using the built-in TWAIN interface in windows (right-click on scanner in devices). When I try to use button manager there is no response when i hit the start button.
I can see the names from SC1 to SC6 are displayed on the copier so there is some sort of communication...
I have double-checked that we use the correct and newest versions of button manager and also checked that the OS starts the correct application with SC1 to SC6.

Hints anyone?

Some info around here states that Vista & Win7 require Button Manager software to be setup using 'Run as Administrator' to correctly work.
Also temporarily disable your anti-virus software before starting the install.

I did use the 'Run as Administrator' option before installing, but did not disable the anti-virus. I can give it a try. I guess the firewall does not block USB connections. I will update the thread after re-installing.

I am having the same trouble with my Sharp AR-M207. Button Manager is not working in Win7 x64. Worked fine in Windows XP. I tried disabling the antivirus before installing and "Run as Administrator" but still doesn't work for me. Were you able to resolve this issue, and if so, what did the trick?

PS: My Win7 pc and AR-M07 can communicate with each other. For example: (a) when I add a menu name in Button Manager, it displays on the AR-M207 (b) When I hit the start button on the AR-M207, a dialogue box opens on pc asking me to select the program to launch the action, but when I choose Button Manager, nothing happens. Just doesn't seem to want to suck the document into the SPF document feeder.

No, I have not resolved the issue. We sold them a used MX-2300N instead

Thanks for responding. I would much prefer to scan to PDF, which is only possible on this machine via the Button Manager. It looks like a bug in the Win7 x64 driver software to me. I will continue to chase this up with Sharp and I will let you know if I have any success.

I still have my AR-M207 under a maintenance agreement, so I have just had a Sharp technician here for about 3 hours looking at this issue. He was able to scan to .tif via the Sharpdesk application. He also assures me that if I had a network card on the AR-M207, I could scan to .pdf via the Sharp "Network Scanner" tool. He couldn't get Button Manager to work though. He pointed out that the driver version that we downloaded from the Sharp website is listed as "3.00.002.004.014", but when loaded onto my pc it lists as "2.01.015.021.014", which is odd. He said he would chase the matter up but couldn't guarantee a fix seeing as the machine is "so old". He said he should have an answer for me sometime next week.

I am a Sharp Technician in South Africa, I have the same problem with Button manager on all the model with Windows 7 64.

Can someone please help with this Problem.

Hi

I just does nothing. No error on copier or computer. All you see is the mouse pointer change to busy for a second.

When button manager is uninstalled and you push the scan to the computer, Windows then asks you what must it do with the instruction from you copier, so I think the problem is with Button manager.
