    Scanning Sharp 1655

I'm trying to get scanning setup on a Sharp 1655 copier. I'd like to scan to Desktop or Email. I am doing this remotely and the computer I'm logged into is connected to copier via USB. I don't have access to the web interface because it is not connected to the network. I can do this but would like to avoid connecting it to the network. What I need is a software program, preferebly free (Open source), that I can install on the computer and have it manage scanning to the Sharp through the USB connection. Initially I installed Microsoft's Document managment/Scanning but it's pretty useless and only saves as a TiFF. I need something will be user friendly, scan multiple documents through the feeder and save them into 1 PDF file. Can anyone help me out or give me some advice/suggestions?? Thanks.

P.S. Computer is running VISTA and I didn't have any luck with Sharp's software. It could have been user error though

You can try Button Manager from Sharp. It's one of the drivers/programs that come with this unit to setup scan. You can get the download from the Sharp website. Have had a few issues when trying to install but it works for the most part. I don't know about setting it up remotely though.

    Good luck.
