Sharp MX-M310 Scanner error 936 - Scanning feature is not enabled
Hi all, hope someone can help. I have the above scanner and the demo scanning was activated. Now we have used up all the scanning. I am receiving the message "Scanner kit not installed". When connecting using a browser and going into Network scanning - then setup I receive a red error "ERROR[936]: Scanning feature is not enabled"
I have called out our third party support and the guy hasnt got a clue. Tried ringing Sharp and they are useless as far as support is concerned!
I have read that I should re-enter the machine serial before I can enter the scanner product key which I received but have not yet used!
Is there a way to re-enable the scanning? What do I need to do?
I would imagine all modern Sharp scanners to work using the same setup??

IF you have the Scanner Product key for that machine...
Enter Key Operator mode on the MFP Operation Panel and input the Activation key in Product Key – NSX or Scanner Expansion Kit, then Power cycle the Copier...... activation is now complete.
Sharp UK will only provide Technical Support to Authorized Dealers and Sharp Qualified Engineers, your 'Third Party Support' is obviously neither....
You will then need to configure the Scanning options...ensure that you are using a 'static IP address for the machine and the SC2 port if you an not using USB.
I do hope you have a Maintenance contract with someone.....

I have tried going into the administration page then selecting the product key, but there is no option for scanner. The space is empty!
Is it possible for the demo period to work without having the scanner kit installed? I have a feeling that the scanner kit has never been installed, I just dont understand why we paid about £350 and had a product key! How do I tell if the kit is installed?
I do have a maintenance contract but the guy is not very familiar with the scanner side of the copier.
I have attached two pics, one of the simulation 26-10 which apparently should have the option to enable scanner, not scanner demo.
And the other is after selecting the product key, there is not scanner option!!

I have checked the memory using a browser to connect and it states "memory and storage installed" = 64MB RAM. Not sure if memory is the problem unless I need more!?!
