What an answer buddy, i never give that advice to technicians in our websites, i just needed advice as a technician, not a user.
Its really easy and quick to change it out. Remove cover disconnect and swap out. Much easier than the POS AR 200 series. No adjustments ness.
Thanks Wild Bill, you've always been helpful, ive been reading your posts from smarka too. Im a new tech in the copier industry with less than a year of experience, but when i grow up im going to be just like you.
Have a good day,
GeoR
You'll need to take care separating the laser from the alignment pins in the frame.
Once you have the screws out that secure the laser to the frame, lift at each mounting spot just a little. If you tip the laser assembly too far while still on the alignment pins, you'll snap off the rear pin. Then it's a lot more difficult to re-align the laser.
Oh, and be cautious with the ribbon cables. If you're too rough with the flat cables during dis-assembly, the contact strips can peel back from the backer, and you'll get laser codes.
And yes. No particular adjustments. Plug & play. Enjoy! =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I was told by another tech that you have to split the machine in half, apparantly not so? Is it really that simple? Gonna have to do this for a customer. Normally a canon tech...
Hey copicatt! Yes it is really simple! But think on blackcat Post!! Ribbon cabels are very brittle in this old Machines!
Good Luck!

Sharp says to remove the scanner to get to LSU. This is far from necessary, especially on the AR-M205. You can even replace just the polygon motor if you get the tamper proof torx bit to remove the LSU cover. I'll be a grumpy oldrn and say that I believe those instructions have previously been posted on this forum.
