AR-M236 with AR-NC5J network problems

Hello there,
we have a Sharp AR-M236 with a AR-NC5J, a printer & a scanner kit.
It has some problems with the network, after it's powered up it works for a few minutes and after that dead silence. It doesn't reply to a ping, doesn't send the scanned pages etc.
The NIC status has the correct TCP/IP settings, IPX, Appletalk and Netbeui are disabled.
Already changed the hub and the network cable. Using a cross cable works for a longer time.

It was so untill today, when I tried it in the morning the machine didn't respond to ping anymore even if just power cycled.

Any idea? Firmware of the AR-NC5J is 1.03.

Thanks!!!

I found out what happened and why the machine doesn't work even for a minute. My colleague is an 1d10t.

He saw on the Sharp service site that there was a firmware named FW_ARNC5J_VER1.2.bin and thought that it was a smart move to upgrade it. In fact when loaded in the firmware upgrade utility the version is clearly stated as 1.02.00... I found out the "strange version" number when checking the NIC with the forced loader jumper on.

I looked around the service site at Sharp, but couldn't find the 1.03.01 firmware. (at least on the Italian site) Does anyone know where to find it?.

PS
I'm also searching for a very slow way to kill someone

Solved, thanks!

The firmware upgrade solved also some issues we had with accessing a LDAP directory server.

I think you might have to pay for this site? But I know they have all firmware, manual, drivers, etc https://www.sharp-service.com/login.htm
this site is good for downloads and it is free, not sure if they have firmware
