    Re: MX-2610 admin password reset

Good rule of thumb is if it has no buttons (touchscreen only), it is the dip switch method to reset admin password.
If it has buttons, the simulation is in service mode.

Hi, I am having this same issue and even reset the password as everyone has said to do. What would the reset password be now?

It resets to the default password.

It will go into something like "data and counter clear", select that, you will see the usual 24-30, execute. Then power down, flip dip back to original position and power up. Admin password should work.

I have to reset admin password on MX-5112N.
After using dip switch machine went into sim24 mode. I executed 30 and 31 to reset passwords. Now machine does not accept 'admin' password to change for example mfp display pattern (this password works fine before). Could you help please?
I need also access to the settings (for example network settings) so need login as administrator but this password does not reset to default so how can I reset it?
admin and sysadmin do not work (is it any other password?)

Another question: Is it possible to set ip address or change to DHCP from sim mode (67-17 does not reset nic) ? How to change this setting without password (which does not work)

    Re: MX-2610 admin password reset

Have a MX-5111n in shop. Can not get password to reset. Tried rolling back firmware as well as Service Mode. Can get Sim 24 by setting right hand dip but password still not accepted after power off and on. Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure its just dip switch 1 on the control board (board with the nic and fax ports), It automatically takes you to 24-30--- execute. Turn machine off flip switch back. I just did this on a 3115 without data security. With data security... No clue if its the same.

Dip switch on right labeled 1. Pushed down to ON and booted to Sim 24. Did both 30 & 31 resets. Powered off, flipped back, and powered on. Still won't authenticate. No security kit.
