    mx-3100 please wait

I have an MX-3100n that, when you boot up, the "please wait" message comes on (that usually flashes for a moment then goes away), but in this case, it stays on, and the machine is not operational. No error code. I can't get into SIM mode, can't really do anything. I've emergency flashed the firmware, and the update shows successful when I do it, but still the problem persists. One of our supervisors had a note about replacing the PCU flash rom. We did that, but still the issue. Any experience with this issue?

Also try reseating the memory chips. I've moved them around to see if I could get the unit to respond if you don't have any spares.

    Good luck.

Go with the above answers, and if they don't resolve it check out the fuser. If the lamp cracks near the connector it can do this too. Check operations with sim 5-2.

I'm currently fighting this issue with a machine. Did you find a resolution to this issue?

I apologize, I wish I had posted the resolution at the time. I went back through my notes and info, and I didn't find the final answer to what I used. I believe we wound up changing the PCU PWB, but I'm not 100% sure (it figures this is the one I didn't note). Sorry I wasn't more help.

I believe found the cause of the issue. It's the USB conversion pwb ordering the part today.

Had this on a 2300. I did all the above but fixed with a new PCU PWB.

I will not tell you the solution but open front cover (where are toners) and close it back. Message Please wait should disappear (do it when you have got this message)
