    L4-06

    Hello

    I Got this error l4-06 on another 2300n I bought it was working fine and I just pulled the magenta drum and developer out... looked at it... put it back in... turned the machine back on now I have this error ... any ideas??

    L4-06 Transfer belt separation position sensor trouble
    Trouble content When separating the primary transfer belt unit, change in the separation position sensor characteristics is not detected within the specified time.


    • Case 1
      • Cause
        • Harness connection trouble between the PCU PWB and the separation position sensor

      • Check and remedy
        • Check the harness between the PCU PWB and the separation position sensor.

    • Case 2
      • Cause
        • The belt position sensor is not interrupted or it is always interrupted. Belt separation clutch operation trouble

      • Check and remedy
        • Use SIM6-3 to check the belt separation operation.

    • Case 3
      • Cause
        • The primary transfer belt unit is not installed.

      • Check and remedy
        • Install the primary transfer belt.

    Hi Ruben,

    Im not a tech so simple talk may help... where are the sensors located? the copier was working fine... then its only done this as soon as I pulled the drum and developer unit out to look at then put back in... the machine is a 2006 model as well...

    Do you have to run anything in simulation if you have pulled a drum or developer out?

    You don't need to get into simulation mode for what you mentioned. Sounds like your primary transfer belt is not installed properly, but saying that since you are not a tech you may want to quit while you're behind and get a tech to look at it.Good luck.Bil

    Hi bill

    thanks its and old machine a tech costs more then I paid for it.. ive changed drums ect before on canon machines without problem.. ive noticed this machine is a little more complicated... Would me removing the drum and putting it back in without making any adjustments cause this?

    It's possible but look at what ruben has mentioned and try turning the transfer belt by hand to see if it is binding.

    I had to turn the belt so the cover slotted back in correctly... i feel a bit silly...
