    Object Judgement

Tell me if I've got this right:
We've recently placed a MX-6240N. Our enduser has a document that they edit in Microsoft Publisher 2010. I have been informed that this machine/driver combination can identify pages with all black elements, and can automatically print those pages in B&W.

Now the criterion as I understand it, is that all objects are:
    C: 0
    M: 0
    Y: 0
    K: whatever

Do I understand this correctly? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

BC don't have an answer for you, but what do you think of the color output on this box?? I did some test prints recently and was not impressed, but my expectations are probably beyond this box.

These machines recently had Pantone released and will offer the truest possible rendering of color.
The Pantone formulas are also built into Publisher. Anytime I get color complaints with Publisher, Pantone is the way to go.
Also a plus, it's free from the Sharp IDNC software library.

I have had a few issues with certain pages clicking as color. I have found that the way the file is built is the key. In Publisher, you have RGB, HSL, or CMYK.

Building the files using the CMYK settings hits the proper meters; RGB will often ding the wrong meter. Save the file as RGB and CMYK and send them to the machine and watch which meters get dinged.

On a side note, I seem to remember a recent firmware upgrade in which one of the fixes was dinging the color meter while printing B/W but I want to say it was the Aries/Virgo series.

Tonerbomb, try some nice glossy stock and set the fuser control to 23-28lbs stock...makes a big difference.
It is still "business color" as far as I'm concerned.
