    sharp mxm503 losing user codes

    Hi guys,

after upgrading the firmware on a sharp mxm503, the copier immediately came up with U2 Error. The only way to get the machine to life again was to download the newest firmware from sharps site and reload it. After this, two other U2 codes appeared, but were able to be reset in sim mode. This however wiped off user codes on the machine. The user codes can be put back on. But after a day or so they disappear. Does anybody know why? Possible hard disk fault?
    Thanks

Typically with a U2 code, if cancelled, will reset critical data such as HDD contents. Think of the U2 codes as more of a warning than an actual problem. Look into them before cancelling, because something just like this will occur. I'm guessing you had a U2-10 error?

User codes are kept on the HDD. You can backup the contents of the HDD with 56-2 and clone them to the new HDD.
As stated above, the last 2 digits of the code would be mighty helpful....
