    Converting An AR-NB2N into a MX-NB10

Ok recently had a customer who damaged the network port on their NB10 by moving the copier with the cable attached
So for speed and conveinience would an NB2 work (as I have loads of them lying around) I got to thinking could it be converted, the answer is "YES"
On taking the NB10 apart the pwb is actually marked NB2 lol.. so the first thing was to swap the firmware chip over and Voila!!
it works lol...one old worthless NB2N has now become a usable NB10.
Now my question is, can i rewrite the standard NB2 chip to make it an NB10? I have tried rewriting the firmware with NB10 firmware which worked by the way but it was still being recognised as an NB2 so I think the chip must hold the program also, is there any way of rewriting everything on the chip not just firmware?
Like I said, I have a box full of old NB2N's that could then be reused on later machines.
