Client brought the mx-c311 from another location and we are helping out for now. It needs a transfer assembly replaced and was wondering if there are any tips on doing this job.
thanks all!

It is a unit. Remove old one, install the new one, calibrate and your done.
These are by far the easiest Sharp machines when it come to maintenance.
Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!
If it is the only one that needs to replace, I would purchase unit.
But if you are buying kit. Not to bad. Front cover of pri transfer comes off by removing 1 screw and slide to left. Bottom rails and charge comes off easy enough. Remove handle on top right and cleaning section on left side. You will see 2 blue shoulder screws 1/3 from the left on front and back, remove and it will allow you to fold transfer section. Take belt off and rollers are exposed. Careful with belt, do not want kinks in them.
Hopefully, I did not confuse you. I do not believe it would be that difficult.

Buy the service manual, it will save you a headache. Don't take more than a single session rebuilding it as there are so many parts you may forget where you started, especially if you're trying to do it without the manual.
Cthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil?
