Install Sharp on Windows 8.1 RT Arm Based Tablet

    Hey guys,

Has anybody had success installing a sharp networked MFP on a Surface tablet running Windows 8.1 RT? It will not run the setup obviously but when I extract the drivers and locate the PCL driver manually it gives me the incompatible message. Also tried a generic HP PCL driver for this operating system but I get block letters.

I would attempt to print with any of the app based printing services as opposed to a surface tablet installing PCL drivers. Yes, it's windows 8, but the coding architecture is different in relation to the fact it's a tablet.

Under the same argument however, it's windows 8, so I can't see why the PCL would be an issue. You may have some luck by turning off the driver signing detection feature, probably a good first step to try.

Yeah I turned off signature enforcement as usual with windows 8 installs started up with it off and still no dice. The prob is its an mx550 which is not supported by sharps sharpdesk mobile app for windows metro. I know its possible because the HP driver works when I force it so I'm afraid the customer may have to wait for sharp to release a 32 bit arm based driver.

We got a mass email today saying that this product is not compatible with Sharp. That's all I know. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Not a very popular architecture for developers, sadly. Either try a different brand ARM driver or see if you can run a virtual x86.
