    MX-2600 POD1_FUS

    Hi guys,

I've had one of them typical Friday afternoon machines.

The original problem was a jam in the fuser with a burning smell. So i removed the jam and replaced the upper and lower heat rollers, aswell as the cleaner roller. Boot up was fine, warm up was fine, but when i went to copy, it started to pull the paper and then stopped. It showed no error until i opened the front door. In the side door, the paper was sitting just before the transfer belt.

Checking the codes showed "POD1_FUS". Service manual says "POD1 JAM ( Detection Of Twining To Fuser)".

I've pulled out the exit unit, pod 1 and 2 are fine, no issues there. I re-sat all relevant cables. Rebuilt the fuser and still the same code and same issue. Google brings up useless rubbish, so i was hoping one of you kind souls could help me here.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

After one of these jams check to see if there is any developed image on the primary transfer belt. If no, the primary transfer belt is probably not turning. Broken gear? Torn belt? Motor problem? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks blackcat, but it was a dodgy thermostat on the fuser. Kept needing to be popped. No idea why it was giving the above error, replaced and working fine now though.

    Thanks again.

    Re: MX-2600 POD1_FUS

I'm trying to get this one solved myself. Mine's an MX-4141N, but the POD1_FUS jam is driving me nuts as well. One told me that it was thermistor(s). One reply I had was the wire harness on the frame side of the fuser connector.
