    Recommedation

My friends office is looking at a Sharp MX-M354N. They run 4000 per month. What are your thoughts about this machine? Can it handle the volume?

I have a school with an mxm 260 that runs about 20 k a month on it. A week or two ago I was out there for a pm at just over 800k. seems to work well for them. The machine your looking at appears to be an updated version. I would think it would be fine. My .02 worth.

Solid work horse, as was its predecessor series ARM237/257/277/317 and the MX-M260/310. Should handle that volume without a problem.

I would also agree that volume is no problem for this model. For what it's worth the MX-M354N is rated for average monthly volume of 4,500 and max monthly print volume of 75,000.

Thanks everyone. I will let him know.

I noticed that it seems that the manufactures rate the volumes weird. They have an unrealistic max monthly volume, sometimes calling it the duty cycle. This makes it look like the machine can handle that volume, when in reality, we know it will not hold up. I had a manufacture rep tell me one time that you take the max volume, divide by 2, then divide by 10. This is the ideal volume for maximum performance. Can it handle more? Yes, but you may be subject to more service calls.

    Again, thanks for your input.
