AR-M550 Grinding and Squealing and backgrounding

I am working on an AR-M550 that started to make a grinding/squealing noise. Upon my diagnosis i have found the the front drum collar is rubbing against the DV unit making aluminum shavings. the backgrounding is also coming from the front side of the page. What i have done as a temporary fix is fold a piece of paper about an 1/8 thick and stick it between the drum and DV unit. Now everything is working OK but would like a more permanent fix. I do not see where there is any adjustment to be made for the gap between the drum and DV unit. any ideas?

You'll probably have to replace the DV unit - I didn't see the DSD collars, like on the older machines, and that is what separates the drum and DV unit.
Look at the white protrusions next to the mag roller, the front one is probably worn down to nothing.

If I remember correctly the Dragon developing units started out using red developer felts (as spacing), then changed to black felts later on. Regardless, at the two ends of the mag roller you should see developing felts. If they're worn down, or gone, there's your problem.

Sharp came out with a new side developer unit seals to resolve this issue they are part of the maintenance kit now.

Sorry, it's not a white protrusion, but it's to the outside of the seals and butts up against the flanges for the drum to keep the separation.
