    MX-M264N cooking DC power supply

I had one of these cook so bad that it melted the fuser rollers together. The fuser heater actually came on as soon as the machine was plugged in. It seems like we might have another one like like that as well in a remote location. Has anyone seen anything like this? Just trying to see if this is a common problem with these.

I have 5+ of these machines working without issue. You're just lucky.

Re: MX-M264N cooking DC power supply

There is a bulletin about a coil failing on the power supply, (machines before mid dec 2012) but the machine doesn't turn on as a fuse goes out on the power supply. Only had 1 machine that had blown coil on power supply, others are running well . I would contact Sharp , to find out if there are any issues and if they want the power supply as this could turn into serious problem.

I have seen that bulletin. Our first machine had the new style power supply and still cooked badly and did not blow the fuse. We have about a dozen of these in the field, all but one on ships. We can access these machines only briefly during the week and we are hoping they have a spare available at their warehouse here so we can bring it into the shop. Reported "bad burning smell and dead machine" virtually the same as the first one.

I have a M314N doing the same thing. How do I solve it. I am not a sharp dealer.

Have you checked the line voltage?

This is an ancient thread. Ended up sending the machine back to Sharp and getting a new one. Still was a pain in the ass. Put a new DC PWB and it still cooked the fuser rollers. Not sure, never found it, but there may have been a separate AC driver mounted to the frame or a shorted wire.
