    Exclamation MX-6240N Becoming unresponsive

    Greetings!
I've got an issue that must be resolved this week.
An MX-6240N, its display will become unresponsive and freeze periodically. Eventually the machine will reboot itself. The time frame where the freeze occurs is sporadic. Sometimes it's hours between occurrences, other times it's minutes.
This happens when connected to the network and when its network cable is unplugged.
SIM 60-1 indicates that ICUM SLOT2 is INVALID, I replaced that memory.
There is a Data Security Kit installed. The Firmware is current.
Everything works normally with the exception of the freezing display.

We have considered uninstalling the data security kit though we are not sure that would help.
I will attach a pdf with a 22-6, the 60-1 screen the part that was replaced and an image of the PWB.
I would very much appreciate any ideas on this.

    Thanks!

The photo shows the FR36 ROM installed but the 22-6 shows no security??? Is that why Slot2 is invalid?

Just noticed Slot 2 is unoccupied (no connecter for the DIMM), that is why it's Invalid.

Socket 1 and 2 are for Prog1 and 2 ROMS.

    Attached is the updated 22-6.
I just went out there to investigate and for some reason the product key didn't stay in. I know I entered it because I was training a guy on how to do all that on this machine and entering the product key was part of that... weird. It's showing up now.
While I was out there I tested the outlet to verify it had the proper power and turned off WSD in case there is anything on their network that is causing issues.
I spoke with the Regional Sharp tech, he says that the "invalid" is normal on the 60-1.

I also just spent the better part of an hour trying to get it to freeze with no luck.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

The DSK info resides on the HDD. If the product key "didn't take", you may have a failing HDD which can cause a plethora of issues, including freezing. Test the HDD using SIM 62-2/3.

HDD R/W test both execute normally.

    Interesting.
Are they using user codes or the built in Device Control preset by chance?

It doesn't appear to be possible to remove the DSK.

    Update time.
So I went back to check the voltage again. The customer had an electrician install a 220v outlet specifically for this machine. Apparently this outlet is on a shared breaker with their IT room which powers a few servers and UPS devices along with a plethora of other equipment. When I went back to test it, the outlet was only supplying 199v.
The customer is in the process of correcting this issue.
