Re: MX-5500
I had this error just the other day
sim 50-22 NG R on the magenta and NG R, it just takes a phillips screw driver, remove the waste toner box. The screws are under the development units on the model I was working on. These screws affect the alignment of the laser units (LSU), if the error reads NG R, you need to turn the phillips head screw to the right one click, then run sim 50-22 until it reads OK. Keep making the adjustment and running the sim 50-22 until it reads OK, don't be discouraged. You may need a flashlight to see into the area where the screw is. I hope this helps. The screw is slightly lower and to the left of the laser scan glass area.

Re: MX-5500
If 50-22 keeps failing you need a whole new transfer belt unit a spring or gear is broke in the other one and it wont allow you to calibrate the machine

Re: MX-5500
Go to 50-10 and set A to default value of 100.
Go to 50-20 and set all of the colors to default value of 100.
Run 50-22 and adjust accordingly.

Re: MX-5500
Your developer material or the unit is bad. Or if you are using off brand toner it is not dropping into the developer correctly. Only cure for that is to go back to Sharp toner.
