    AR-M455 Eating Developer Units

    Hi All,
I have an AR-M455 that is destroying developer units. I have put two new units in this machine and both DV units lasted a couple of weeks! Eventually the mag roller locks up. I noticed on the front side there is a piece of mylar that gets mashed. It looks to me like there is a lot of pressure being put on the mag roller, on the front side. I looked at the mechanism that lifts the dev unit and it looks OK.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks

Are your development units brand new? Have you pulled the rear panel and determined that the main gear assy. is working well? Is the developer still in the units? Or is it getting pulled out by the drum?

As I mentioned, they are locking up to the point that the mag roller is very difficult to turn. Still have all the dev in them.

Is the left hand slide-out door latching properly, specifically the rear latch?

Don't have a pic Dude. The unit is still in the machine. Threw the others out. I can tell you there is a wear mark around the mag roller near the front side. (as you're looking at the machine) The drum is worn in the same place, so the drum is putting pressure on the mag roller, but I don't see anything wrong with the drum unit.

Is it possible that the drum housing could be warped or cupped from the fuser's heat? Remove the drum housing and lay it on a flat surface, like a desk and see if it rocks? Just a thought...
