Major issues with a DC250 - pic attached - please help

    Hi,

I have recently given my machine a deep clean, put all back together. I first had error codes relating to the IBT sensors - so i have a new IBT belt on its way. I have taken another look at the sensor and noticed the silver casing was out of place. Once popped back in the codes dissapeared and everything seems normal...

until i went to print something... there is practically no toner getting to the paper? i am attaching an image to show you what i mean, this is all cmyk in 100% 75% and 25% gradients... can anyone explain what the problem might be?

Any help would be very appreciated.

    Many thanks,
    Colin

I cant seem to attach the picture, so i have included a link

Maybe you should start by thanking those who helped you with the first post.

Hi, Really sorry. I have just replied and thanked everyone for their help.

Would you know anymore about the problem i am currently having? I run my own design and print agency and this machine is my only means of printing - so im pulling my hair out a little at the moment.

      Many thanks

It appears that all the colors are doing the same thing. Start at the 2nd BTR. Do a hard stop and check if the toner is properly laid on the IBT belt. If it is, your problem is most likely the 2nd BTR. Its not properly pulling the toner onto the sheet before the fuser.

Then we will go from there.

Glad to help, and good luck!

OK so i have just done a hard stop, opened up the drawer, and the image is placed on the ibt belt. As i left the print to continue, there is nothing on the final print

Sounds like the red bias lead on the 2nd BTR is not connected.

Yea you have an 2nd BTR problem. Check the connections to the 2nd BTR as stated by Milo. Since you said you have a manual it should be easy to trouble shoot.

If all the connections are correct. While printing check the black and yellow indicator window above 2d to ensure the 2BTR is moving.

Also make sure there is no paper stuck behind the draw unit.

OK, so i have checked the 2BTR - according to the manual the red bias lead is the 'earth' i am guessing? the lead that is closest to the machine when the draw is open and connects to a metal spade? In my case this lead is white for some strange reason.

I have checked it and all seems OK. though still the same end result. I examined the mentioned window to see if the 2BTR is powering, the yellow disc probaby only does a half turn when going through the print process? Is this about right.

I am attaching some images of what the image looks like on my screen, how it appears on the IBT belt after a hard stop and also the final print.

                  On my screen

                  On the IBT Belt

                  Finished Print

I am also attaching a short video of the 2BTR indicator window, so you can see how it is turning

If anyone has any ideas, please please please let me know thankyou in advance

Try to print on other paper stock. Seems your paper is not dry, looks like moistured paper.

I have just tried a few other stocks and weights, but still the same issue... could it be the 2BTR?

Just a note to say thank you for everyones help, we are now back in business! It was the 2BTR that was at fault - the lead was properly connected, though the high voltage connector at the back of the machine had come loose and wasn't making a full contact with the connection at the back of the tray! We had a message from someone at xentair that had dealt with the same problem a few weeks back, so a massive thankyou for everyones help!
